Busan
Selected as one of “52 Places to go in 2017” by the New York Times, Busan is Korea’s second largest city only 2.5 hours from Seoul by KTX. As a major coastal city, Busan is filled with things to eat, see and do!

A major destination of Busan that you must go is the Gamcheon Culture Village. Often referred to as the Machu Picchu of Korea, this used to be a low-income area where small houses were built along a mountain ridge. Near the end of 2000, the village was renovated through the Village Art Project, and has since become a popular tourist destination. Jagalchi Market located between the old city and the beach, and Gukje Market which is said to “have it all,” are always crowded with shoppers and tourists for their wide selection of seafood and delicious fishcake among many other things. You should also visit the film district in Nampo-dong and the fashion street in Gwangbok-ro and try street foods like seed hotteok (sugar-filled griddlecakes) and bibim dangmyeon (spicy glass noodles). And if you want to know where the young people of Busan go for coffee, go to the Jeonpo Café Street, a cluster of unique coffee shops. Then what about heading to Haeundae to enjoy the cool afternoon sea? After enjoying the beautiful view of Haeundae Beach, you can go over to Shinsegae Centum City, listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest department store in the world. If you get tired from all walking and shopping, Spa Land on the 1st and 2nd floor consists of 18 natural hot spring baths, a rest area where you can relax and watch TV, a restaurant, a café, and much more. Then after sunset, you can go to The Bay 101 for a spectacular view of Busan’s glittery Marine City and refreshing ocean breeze.
